What is the best camera resolution to set on a 2CD2055 camera?

The data sheet for the 2CD2055 states that the resolution is 2560 x 1920.

The options on the camera config don't list 2560 x 1920:

What is the best resolution to use?
I presume that anything above 2560 horizontal has been upscaled, but why isn't it offering the camera native resolution?

Thank you.

Hi @NeilR

What Firmware version is the camera currently running?

You can use those higher resolutions because the camera does actually have a 6MP sensor, it was just at the time the 2055 models came on the market most NVRs did not support 6MP resolution and so people were locked out from using these resolutions, but with a recent firmware update, Hikvision unlocked the full resolution of the camera's sensor.

It may be that the 2560 x 1920 resolution was from an old datasheet, the datasheets we have seen do not state this resolution so it is likely that this resolution was removed/modified during that update that introduced the 6MP resolutions.

Thanks Dan

It's firmware V5.6.5 build 200316

So 3072 x 2048 is actually a valid native sensor resolution?

yes, we have run demo 2055 models for quite a while now in the max. resolution and we have seen nothing in the live view or recording that would suggest there is any upscaling.

The above explanation was what Hikvision support told us when we first found these higher resolution options had been added a few years ago.
