as discussed on some older posts some IPC-B140 cams seem to be compatible with HIK R6 firmware Ben's camera has v5.5.82 atm, so must be differnt B140 to the ones listed on Hiwatch with v5.5.80. mind you the latest R6 version is 5.5.82_190909.. so not newer to what he has.

There have been some reports that too big jumps can cause problems. Wouldn't think that NVR breaks, but some things may not work properly. Don't think you need to upgrade every release. Maybe wait for some others to chip in with hands on experience owning the K series.

There are a few posts about the v4 firmware for the K models. Have a read before you upgrade to v4. The UK portal has the newer versions here. But not going back to your current version?

Replacing the case fan on the side doesn't make huge amount of of a difference imo. I didn't bother and cut n spliced as well . It's nice and quiet until you put the top back on. I'm planning to cut out big opening and fit some mesh to reduce the case vibration. I already removed the psu and...

unless you rip out the internal PSU :cool: , the case fan on the side is noisy when pushing the air through the side of the lid..

@waksat . After logging into the camera , you find "LED light" under the Linkage Method tab. I can see it there on my 2047G2. It's documented in the release notes on the portal download page.

there is some chat about differnt/same behaviour of the various 160 versions over on the ipcam forum.

looks like the 160 firmware was uploaded to the UK portal, this time with release notes. 5.5.160 build210108 it has earlier build date than the one that was pulled from EU portal (which ws 5.5.160_210209)

looks like new firmware has been published. V4.50.000 build210125 but no release notes yet.

@Dave Howard . Sorry no. Didn't have any time to play with the low light image over last week. Busy setting up the 2455 cube as the new Puppy cam :-) the 2546G2 doesn't have white supplement light.. your 2163G0 has better low light performance (0.01 lux ) compared to my 2545 (0.014 lux) -...

I don't want to brick it , and finding out in .160 the line crossing event still doesn't allow to link the LED light to come on. could you check if you have option for LED Light triggering in Smart Events>Intrusion Detection>Linkage Method (or line crossing, etc..)

@JB1970 . after you upgraded to the .160 FW, did you manage to downgrade? I wonder why it was pulled.. waiting for it as its supposed to add turning on the LED for smart events.. which is the reason why i got my new 2047G2..
