    Trunking question

They are waterproof - plastic conduit when used with adapters is waterproof. As said in my first reply though, the camera is waterproof to IP65 and with the gland fitted on the RJ45 coupling you shouldn't have any issue. Some say to wrap that gland with self amalgamating tape but I never will...

    Trunking question

The Hikvision box is not natively designed to take a 20mm conduit. That's a female adapter (I'd guessed it was a male). It really does not matter. If you want it to be 'correct' you'll need to source a 25 - 20mm reducer bush which you'll get from any electrical wholesaler/screwfix/toolstation...

    Stopped recording hard drive

No. Just replace the disk and initialise it. All settings remain intact. Be sure to only replace it with a surveillance grade drive - Seagate Surveillance/Skyhawk, Western Digital Purple or Toshiba S300.

    Stopped recording hard drive

In the image in your first post you can try ticking the box next to the HDD then clicking the 'Rebuild all data' button. Sometimes the recording database can becoming corrupted and it appears to not be recording with the history missing, so try that first. It takes some time. If that doesn't...

    Stopped recording hard drive

There is no issue there. Once the hard drive fills for the first time and starts overwriting, it will always show the remaining space as 0. When the HDD is overwritten it doesn't wipe the drive and start again with a full drive, it deletes the oldest recording 'chunk' to make room for the newest.

    Trunking question

Yes both are fine and there’s little chance of water getting in.

    Trunking question

TBH it's not critical as the camera is IP65 rated without the backbox. In the second image the 20mm plastic conduit has a male adaptor fitted (exposed thread). The exposed thread on that adaptor would normally be inserted through the side of an enclosure with a locking on the inside of the...

DS-7604NI-K1/4P no more IP camera allowed

No. The maximum is 4 cameras or 40Mbps incoming bandwidth, whichever is reached first. If you want to add cameras you'll need to upgrade to a DS-7608NXI-K1/4P(D) which would allow up to 8 cameras (or 80Mbps incoming bandwidth). You'd also get the benefit of AcuSense (Human/Vehicle event...

    Camera protocol settings

My guess: Hikvision Plug and Play only works with unactivated cameras. You activated the camera and assigned a LAN address with SADP....you should have plugged it straight into the NVR which would have both activated the camera and assigned its address in the correct range. The NVR possibly...

Upgrade needed to reduce false alarms ?

Image quality will be the same as you currently have, but you'll get the added convenience of the AcuSense functionality. I tend to only install IP systems when at all possible but when I did fit HDTVi analogue (what you have), I wasn't a fan of that camera. The PoC version you have is fairly...

Upgrade needed to reduce false alarms ?

You’ll want to upgrade to one of the newer iDS models. IDS-7204HUHI-M1-PXT would be what I’d recommend. The P in PXT is for the PoC model.

Intrusion detection appears to be ignoring minimum size thresholds

I can't see anything fundamentally wrong with how you have it set up. I would clear the rule and save, disable intrusion and save then set it up again as it's not working. A couple of things when you set it up again: 1 - Start by setting up only the minimum size and leave the maximum alone...

Hikvision Disk Exception - DVR intermitent bleeping

You'll need to replace the disk, it's unlikely to be recoverable. Unfortunately it doesn't matter whether you use a locally connected monitor or a web browser; without the admin password you won't be able to initialise (format) the new disk. Any Hikvision installer would be able to attend and...

No thumbnails on notifications in Hik-Connect

That's correct - you'll get a text event notification message in the phones notification area. That'll just be the Hik-Connect icon with the relevant message (Cam ? - Motion Detected, Line Crossing etc) Yes - text only notification. Tap it to jump from the notification into the Hik-Connect app...

Viewing all 8 camara previews at once

As I’ve multiple sites on my app Home Screen it only shows 2 thumbnails from each. I don’t really mind. What does bother me that despite several updates, the app still scrambles the thumbnails and shows them in the wrong site with the wrong camera name. Dragging/refreshing the screen corrects...

Hikvision DS-7604NI-I1 / 4P hikconnect no motion in continuation

It'll show on the local user interface. Unfortunately I don't think it will show on Hik-Connect with your particular model as the firmware is too old (newer models will). Also regardless of that, to get the event markers in playback (on Hik-Connect app) you need to be viewing an NVR that's...

    M Series Firmware - 5.04.050_250124 Released

Clear your browser history. It’s common after firmware updates that web ui elements fail to load/display correctly due to changes in the code.

    HikConnect - Permission change ?

The app is free. When you register a NVR you get 'Health Monitoring' free for one month after which you can pay a small amount for a further 12 months (it's fee in the EU but charged differently here). The 'Health Monitoring' is what allows remote viewing, playback and configuration along with...

    HikConnect - Permission change ?

There are a few ways you could remotely administer it: 1 - Port forwarding. You'd port forward the http, server and rtsp ports to the IP address of the NVR. The NVR needs a static IP address for that and you may need Dynamic DNS depending on the provider. If it's Virgin Media it's easy as...

    HikConnect - Permission change ?

For you to delete you don't need to be on the same network. Just open Hik-connect app, three dot menu next to your 'site' name, settings then at the bottom of the page 'delete' and confirm it. Job done - it's out of the Hik-Connect account that you originally added it to (with your e mail or...
