For normal business domestic use I would go for cat5e.

Interesting, we are being encouraged to recommend Cat6a now for main network links, due to its ability to cope with 2.5Gbps speeds that the newest routers and switches can handle.
Of course, it's OTT for what most network legs need.
But, if the price premium is small, then your cable / patch lead is future proofed.

Do I just unplug the powerline and plug the new cable in? Will I need to reset anything?
