Hello everyone , I installed 3x 2347G2H-LIU a few months back and have been impressed with them, I have just ordered a new camera but it is the 2347G3-LIS2YU/SL (I wanted the one with the speaker). Im struggling to find what the difference means between G3 and G2H? I was assuming the H was for hybrid but the G3 Is also a smart hybrid.

On a side note do I have to enable the two way talk within virtual host ? is it a simple "plug and play" ? I have never had one before and am wanting to do away with the Ring yearly subscription so opted for the camera with two-audio. Thanks

The h does stand for hybrid.

Hello mate, and I know but what was confusing me was the G3 model is a smart hybrid but there is no H within the code, but I have since seen that they just dropped the H from the lettering so that answers that one lol.

Do you have any ideas on how the 2 way audio works at all? Thanks

G3 is the new ColorVu 3 Hybrid model. It’s a direct replacement for your existing G2H ones but as it’s the new model there are various improvements including ColorVu 3.0, better AcuSense, dual microphones, anti corrosion coating etc. The 2 way audio can be used directly from the Hik-Connect app with no setup needed.

There are a few threads on the forum regarding these cameras including a little review I did when I installed a couple. If the audio sounds awful you might want to use virtual host to turn off the environmental noise filter.

Hey JB thanks for the reply, and yeah I realised after I posted this thread that you had made a review post lol, I was only scrolling so far down and was seeing the pinned threads and thought they were the latest ones ‍♂️ lol. I have the HikConnect app setup already for the cameras I currently have up, but I had seen a few videos online where people had said they were having trouble with the audio so was just unsure on that part, is it just literally connect the camera to the NVR like the others and once its connected with the app just press the mic button and that's it? Thanks

As detailed in my post the audio from the camera was awful on mine with the noise filter on so it had to be turned off. I’m not aware of any two way audio issues on the cameras. Perhaps it’s NVR dependent. Touch the mic icon, select ‘channel’ and speak.
