I am using a Hikvision camera, and when I enter playback mode, the timeline appears as a solid green bar without any highlighted event markers to indicate detected activities.

On my iPhone, the event highlights are displayed correctly, as shown in this screenshot:

However, on Android, the event highlights do not appear. Here are my configuration settings and the playback screen on Android:

How can I make event highlights appear on Android, just like they do on iOS?
I have already installed the latest version of the Hik-Connect app.

Are you logged into the same Hik Connect account on the Android phone as the iPhone? The markers don’t work if you added the system to the app as a local device.

Not all are different accounts. I use several Android devices with account A, which is shared with three other accounts: B, C, and D. Among these, the two accounts (B, D) using iPhone (iOS) are highlighted, while my account and the remaining shared account (both using Android) (A, C) are not highlighted.

You need to either log in on the app with the same account that the system is registered to OR use the account that the system is registered to, to share the system to other accounts. When sharing you should ensure that the appropriate permissions have been selected before sharing the link/generating the barcode. If you already shared the system, try removing/de-authorising the share before recreating it (making sure permissions are correct)

Wow wow wow! I had to create the account to clarify this (Hello to all btw)
You mean the functionality of markers meing made on the timeline depends on some server in china being online?
I added my camera locally (I use VPN to access LAN) and I struggled to make it work for the last 3 days.
I also cant trigger regording baset on smart event. Only motion detecion and continues work.
Could that also be the raeason for that?

Some functionality in the Hik-Connect app is limited to systems that are registered to a Hik-Connect account. Push notifications for events, Human, Vehicle, Event filtered playback, remote arming/disarming of event notifications are some of the functions that are not possible unless both the system and app are logged in to the same account. The server is not necessarily in China, it could be anywhere depending on your region. It’s still worth having your system added to Hik-Connect using its local IP address as a backup in case of issues with service.

DVR/NVR - doesn’t matter; they’re added to Hik-Connect in the same manner.

The ‘notify surveillance centre’ option on the event linkage actions enables/disables push notifications to your app for that specific event.

Well, i added my camera to my Hik Connect domain, and although I do recieve event push notifications now, I stlill dont see markers on the timeline :(
For what I found elswhere on this forum it's not a bug, its a (NVR's) feature, isn't it? WTF hikvision?

Probably down to the age of the DVR or firmware. The event filtering is only available in later firmware. As Hikvision stops releasing new firmware for models after some time, it may be that the feature won’t be available for you even on the latest releases firmware. That’s just the way it is unfortunately.

They could really use some help with their software simply by reading this forum. The amount of strange, inconsistent, unintuitive behaviours, configuration quirks, holes in documentation etc is staggering. For example, the same camera added to hik domain doesnt show me detection areas, locally - it does. On the other hand added localy shows me option for iris and wiper control, whitch doesnt exist.
Their hardware is great, but newbie user exerience is really crappy.
