Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

Another very minor release by the looks of it. I wonder if we'll ever see the AcuSearch functions supported on this recorder...

Currently it's only available on the global product page but not the firmware searches or UK product page.
I was hoping this release would support the DS-KV6113-WPE1 fully...

It was the issues described at the beginning of this thread...
I had a look, I've not had that problem unless I'm missing something (I possibly am). I think mine was added first as an Access Control Device, then it's working as normal for Video; it didn't need to be added using RTSP protocol, it shows Hikvision and TCP.

Do they ever provide release notes? I see they put 'For better user experience, we highly recommend you to update your device to the latest firmware asap.'
Presume they want us to be Alpha testers for the update...

I can only add the doorbell using RTSP. The standard HikVision protocol results in a Device Type Mismatch error :(

FYI, I installed the latest version available in Australia (v5.03.000_240814) and seems to be working all fine. It’s also fixed the missing preview photos on event notification clips on the HikConnect app on my iPhone.

FWIW, I suspect this occurred prior to v5.03.010, BUT it caught my attention today. For me,

EVENT MARKERS in PLAYBACK are off by an hour (i.e. event markers are +1 hour from actual)

For example:
  • via WEB UI
  • go to Live View.... all Live View time stamps show the correct DST times
  • go to Playback
  • enter a Search for Perimeter Protection --> Intrusion Detection
    • use today's date and hours 00:00 - 24:00
  • Current real time is 09:18:40
  • Search results:
    • Event Marker shows at 09:46 (aka the little "red" vertical bar)
    • unable to play this event, since it is in the future
  • manually move the playback to 8:46
    • and there is the recording that (I assume) generated the event
This is repeatable. Should I repeat the sequence using a previous day.... the little "red" vertical bars are +1 hour from actual time.

My high level conclusion.... time stamps on recordings look correct, just the Markers are off.

My test environment:
  • DS-7616NI-M2 @ V5.03.010 build 240606
  • DS-2CD2387G2H-LISU/SL @ V5.7.15 build 240201
  • Chrome browser using the Web UI on the NVR
  • devices connected via CISCO POE switch
  • NVR & Camera clocks are sync'd to a CISCO Time Server, all on the same VLAN
  • actual time differences between devices < 1 sec (probably < 500ms but my available tools don't give me that granularity)
  • actual time difference between CISCO Time Server and real time, < 1 sec
  • NVR / Cameras have DST set with DST Bias of 60 minutes
  • SSH command --> getDateInfo <-- run on NVR & Cameras show a respectable / correct time. (e.g. Sun Jun 16 09:18:40 UTC 2024)
FWIW, back in June 2024, I complained about the Playback "Event Markers" being off by an hour.

Now that I am off Daylight Savings Time & back on Standard Time, the new Event Markers are no longer off by that 1 hour (aka DST Bias).

Just a heads up to HIK Development..... you still need to fix this.

Has anyone else notices that the latest build has disappeared (no longer on the UK, US or Global websites, nor the EU Portal), and the only place that seems to have any version available is the UK Portal, which only has the older V5.03.010_240606 version.

Interesting - I’ve just typed my serial number into Hik Partner Pro and there’s a newer version available - 5.04.020_241106; much newer.

I guess that version will shortly appear on the usual sites….Download link (I couldn't share directly so this in my Dropbox):

The latest v5.03.020 was there yesterday when I checked for the elusive v5.04 on the product page. And today... no firmware links at all!

I linked a copy above. However if you look in my other post I've detailed some issues so I'm not sure whether it'll appear on the usual sites or not. It is still available via a serial number search on Hik Partner Pro.

Where do you type a serial number in to Hik Partner Pro to find firmware? I've searched everywhere on the app and via the web-based plugin.

Edit: don't worry, finally found it. Rather than click on Support at the top menu, I had to just hover over Support, then select Firmware Update Search from the pop-down menu that shows while you're hovering over Support.

I use the iPhone app. There’s a little floating icon on the right edge of the screen. Clicking that brings up a Support Page then click the Firmware Update Search button.

With regards to outdoor stations, Hikvision have explained that they're still working on this fix, which should be released in V5.0.4 next month.
So, until then, the only way to add them to M-Series NVRs is by adding them as HIKVISION_RTSP cameras.
Update on this issue - Hikvision have told me that this fix has been postponed until the next M-Series firmware update.

Here's their reply to me:
Version 5.04.050, which contains intercom device compatibility, will be released after Christmas.

I'll test and confirm when the new version is released.
