hi
i have a mate looking for any advice any1 can give ,he has a pub with 16x2mp analogue installed all on cat 5 cable he his wanting to upgrade to a decent ip system there are 11 cameras inside and 5 outside the pub, he is wanting a good nvr and cameras and also wants to have the option to add more at a later date,,
any suggestions on what nvr would be best, i did say he should get the colorvu cameras for the outside dont think he need them inside would you guys say same

Hi @Eggshell82

Our recommendations would be the below:

NVR - DS-7616NI-I2-16P 16 Channel Network Video Recorder (or a DS-7732NI-I4-16P 32 Channel Network Video Recorder if you think you may add more cameras to the system in the future)

Outdoor Cameras - DS-2CD2347G2-LU 4MP ColorVu Fixed Turret Network Camera

Indoor Cameras - DS-2CD2545FWD-IS 4MP IR Fixed Mini Dome Network Camera

Both cameras are vandal-rated which for a pub may be a beneficial thing to have indoors and outdoors, and the mini domes have a low profile making them a good option for discreet indoor installation.

Depending on the mounting location you may also need to purchase junction boxes or wall brackets for certain cameras, the compatible mounts are linked below:

2347G2 ColorVu Turret - DM21 Junction Box / 140 Wall Bracket

2545FWD-IS Mini Dome - DM46 Junction Box

Thanks for the reply dan i have been looking at the 4mp darkfighter DS-2CD2346G2-ISU/SL for the inside cams would you recommended theses mate

Yeah you can use that turret model indoors, but that is actually an AcuSense model with Live-Guard. Live-Guard means the camera supports a white strobe light and audible alarm which may be a bit overkill for indoors and you may be better of with the basic AcuSense turret - DS-2CD2346G2-IU 4MP AcuSense Fixed IR Turret Network Camera With Built-In Microphone

Also, if you want to understand the different features of ColorVu, AcuSense, and Live-Guard this forum post linked below will help:

You can easily use that cameras, that Dan explained before. You will see, the new ColorVu or AcuSense 4MP Models make a very nice image, and your old 2MP Cameras are nothing against thats. For Indoor use Dome Cameras, for Outdoor i prefer Bullet!

With the new cameras, you have nice functions included for intrustion detection or line crossing. With Hik Connect you can use the camera system like a alarmsystem ^^
