Problem with DVR

Hi

I woke up one morning and the DVR was doing 5 beeps. Always 5 beeps the same. About every minute. Consistently.
So I had to turn it off with the plug.
So obviously my cameras aren't on either now.

I turned it back on and it was still doing the same thing so had to turn it off again.

Does anyone know why it's doing this and how I can stop it?

Thanks

Hi @Popps

When the DVR is turned on are all the cameras still connected and are all the cameras still recording?
If you go to the DVR logs in the DVR maintenance menu, do you see any errors/warnings when searching the logs?

Hi

Yes the cameras are connected and they're recording because I can go and watch live view on them and that works fine.

However I'm looking at DVR now and it's like it can tell that there's movement happening in the garden but when you try to play it it says no video found.

On my hikconnect app on my phone it says disk exception?
I presume this is relevant but I don't know what this means?
On the app it's showing the video snippets but when you click on them to actually watch them it says no video footage found

I went in the maintenance menu in the DVR but I couldn't see any error messages or anything?

Thanks @Popps

Based on what you described in your previous post (no video found, disk exception, etc...), it sounds like your HDD could be faulty.

If you follow the steps in the screenshot below from the DVR user manual, you can run a S.M.A.R.T test on the HDD to check for any faults.

If you run the Short Test and it fails, this more than likely means you have a faulty/failed HDD and will need to replace it.

If the HDD is only a couple of years old it might still be in warranty, you would need to check this with whoever you bought the HDD from.

Thank you

I have followed this and done the short test and it said the test succeeded...

Thanks @Popps

Can you please confirm what firmware version the DVR is currently using?

I'm sorry for the stupid question but I'm not sure what you mean by this or how I find this out?

Hi @Popps

When you log in to the DVR and go to the System > Basic Information menu, you should see the current firmware version that the DVR is using.

If you are running old firmware, this could be the cause of the strange behaviour/glitches you are seeing.
