I have 7616ni-se/p NVR. I bought NVR with 8 cameras only. Everything is working fine.
Last a few days, I bought 3 more ip cameras, but cannot add those ip cameras to NVR.
Hikvision NVR firmware is 3.0.9.
Hikvision New ip camera firmware is 5.4.1.
I would like to upgrade NVR firmware , or can downgrade ip camera firmware? Plz advice me. Thanks in advance.

Hi. If they're Hikvision's 4MP R6 series of cameras, you'll need to update your NVRs firmware to v3.0.15 build 151230 which introduced support for this series.

If not, I'd still recommend you update to this version. Your NVR is on a firmware version before Hikvision introduced their new device activation process (v3.0.15 build 150528 for your NVR), in which you'll need to create a "Strong" password to activate your NVR. This "Strong" password is necessary if you wish to connect a more recent camera that also has been updated to include this device activation process - the two won't work be able to be directly connected otherwise.

Have a read through this thread, it might help.

Thanks for your advice.
Where can I download NVR firmware v3.0.15 build 151230.
Thanks again.

If it's a Western Region NVR, you can download firmware updates from the Hikvision European download portal.
http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/

Be careful though - if it's not a WR NVR, you'll potentially brick the NVR if you use WR firmware. Check the serial number of your NVR for either a WR for Western Region or CH for Chinese models.

Firmware is different across regions, yes. You shouldn't install western region firmware on a Chinese camera, and vice versa you shouldn't install Chinese firmware on a western region camera

Thanks again.
All my cameras are English firmware. Not Chinese firmware. So I can upgrade, right?

Yes, you can upgrade, just be absolutely sure they're genuine WR cameras and not CH cameras with hacked firmware :)
