In this how-to guide we will be showing you how to set up the Avigilon ACC software.
Firstly go to:
http://avigilon.com/#/support-and-downloads/for-software/software-updates-and-downloads/.
Select the ACC Server and download and install.
Click 'Run'.
The package will now begin to install.
Note: As we have previously installed this software and have uninstalled and re-installed it for the purposes of this how to, we were not prompted for a license key. However, you will require one for set-up so make sure that you have bought one before starting.
Follow each step, making sure that you read every page thoroughly. Make sure you accept the terms and click 'Next'.
On the next page, choose which users of the computer have access to program shortcuts. Then click 'Next'.
On the next page click 'Next'.
On the final page click ‘Finish’.
On the next screen you can set up your storage options. If you are happy with the presets click next; if not click 'Change Storage Configuration' and alter to suit you.
You will now be given the option to install the ACC itself. You will need this to set up cameras and recordings.
You will now be prompted to begin the installation of the client software. As before, be sure to read everything thoroughly and follow the set up options.
Accept the terms and click the 'Next' button.
In the next window, you will be able to choose your installation path. The program will automatically select a default. Once you have chosen click 'Next'.
Via the next window you can choose which users will have access to the Avigilon software. Make a selection and click 'Next'.
You have now chosen all of your settings; to start installing click 'Next'.
Your ‘ACC’ software will now begin to install.
Once the software has been installed, choose whether or not you would like to run the program. You will also be asked if you would like to install the Avigilon player. If you do, the installation window will automatically open; just follow the few set up windows.
When you open the program for the first time, you will be prompted to login. For the first login this should be, by default, ‘administrator’ for username and leave password blank. Now click 'Log In'.
Once you have logged in, you will see that there are no cameras connect to the ACC software. To connect a camera and start recording, ensure that you have a camera (preferably an Avigilon camera) connected to the network. Now click 'Tools' in the top left corner and select the ‘Connect/Disconnect Cameras…’ option.
In this next window you can view all connected cameras. Any camera that are discoverable should automatically appear under the ‘Discoverable Cameras’ tab. To connect the camera, select it and click the 'Connect' button at the bottom of the screen.
You will now be prompted to choose which server you would like to connect to and what connection type you would prefer. Select the options you would like and click ‘OK’.
If the camera doesn't automatically display click the ‘Find camera…’ button. From here you can find a camera manually. Just enter all the relevant and correct information and click ‘OK’.
Your camera should now be discoverable. To connect it to the server, follow the same steps as shown above.
Now to place the camera in our live stream and start recording! Go to the main screen of the interface. To the top left of the screen there is a 'System Explorer' tab. Under this, open ‘Local Client’ then *your server name*. Your camera should now display under this tab. Click on the camera and drag and drop onto an available window.
Congratulations! You have now successfully installed and set up your ACC software as well as added a camera to start recording.
