Colour vu camera issue

Any idea what’s going on here …

All of a sudden the day image is whited out and the night image is dark …
No settings has been changed and it’s been absolutely fine since installation a year ago …… the camera lens is clean and all the other 7 cameras are ok …just this one

We need to know the precise model number of the camera to confirm, but it looks to me as though you possibly have a G3 ColorVu, with exposure set to Manual instead of Auto. In that mode the exposure is fixed rigidly at the set exposure time and will not adjust regardless of available light, resulting in what you are seeing. It should be set to auto in the camera, allowing the exposure time to auto adjust between the upper and lower set points according to the available light. G3 ColorVu cameras have the option of 'auto' and 'manual' exposure time. Earlier models only have 'fixed', but in truth it wasn't fixed, rather it was a capped minimum exposure time.

Hi.. it makes sense what you’re saying but no settings have been changed …and there is no issue with the other 7 cameras … I’m not sure of the camera model

And up until 2 days ago, and for the last year the images have been perfect … and this is why I can’t understand it !

Whether you changed any settings or not doesn't really make a difference. You're going to need to log into the camera (assuming it's an IP camera and not HD analogue) and check the image settings. If it's a HD analogue camera the settings are accessed differently using the PTZ controls to send commands to the camera. You can get the model number while logged into the camera or from the NVR. If you don't know whether you have a DVR (HD analogue) or NVR (IP) the model number of the recorder will reveal that information. The cameras label is visible in your image - the model number should be on there. If it's a HD analogue camera its simple to reset to defaults from the DVR or your app.

Ok so today I got access to the nvr ( as it’s not my system) and looked at the exposure setting which I found was on manual ! ..
so I’ve switched it back to auto and saved and we’re back to normal…
I also made sure the day/night switch was also on auto
I’m just still baffled to why/ how it’s changed by itself….
