Good Day All,

Can someone tell me what needs to be configured on the Hikvision NVR that is connected
to the internet to allow one to view the NVR remotely on internet explorer.

I know I have to put the Static public IP in internet explorer not the NVR IP
and sometimes put the port #.

What do I need to configure on the Hikvision NVR to allow for this remote viewing?

Yes port forwarding is set and I can view everything on IVMS-4200.

However I can't always view them on internet explorer and I am not sure why.

I want to be able to make changes to the virtual alarms on the cameras remotely instead
of having to keep going back to the different sites. This can be done on internet explorer
using the public IP. However I believe there is a setting on the NVR that needs to be done
to allow for this.

Ok, if you are using Public IP you will need to set up Dynamic DNS (DDNS), the below forum thread explains how to do this:

Ok great, will try that on some of the NVR's. Thanks' again for the great work!

Hi Dan,
I'm still struggling to set up internet access on my I series NVR. As for port forwarding, are there any issues (caveats) for using HTTPS over HTTP? I'm no network expert, so please bear with me. Maybe Hik connect for any of my (planned) authorised users may cause problems if I use a secure connection. Should I turn off DHCP?

Regards

Michael

As a note an update for viewing NVRs/cameras remotely.

If you forward port 80 it seems to allow one to view them on internet explorer
Port 8000 also needs to be forwarded, this is primarily to see everything on IVM2-4200
