Sometimes Hikvision devices fail to save settings, clips, files etc unless you are running your Internet Explorer browser session with administrator rights.
You need these rights to create new files.
It's simple to do:
Step 1 - Begin typing Internet Explorer in the 'Type here to search' box at the bottom left on your Windows PC, alongside the Windows/start icon.
Step 2 - As you type you should see the shortcut icon for Internet Explorer appear in the list above as you type (you don't need to type all of Internet Explorer)
Step 3 - Use your mouse to right-click on that Internet Explorer icon
Step 4 - Click on 'Run as administrator'
Please note that the Internet Explorer icon is the blue e with the gold flash.
The blue e icon without the gold stripe is Microsoft's Edge browser (not currently recommended as it will not yet work to show live video from most IP cameras).
Internet Explorer is still included / shipped with Windows 10, it's just that Microsoft do not provide a ready-made shortcut icon to it.
